Does sheet1,A1 exist anywhere on sheet2?

I have a list of names in column A of Sheet 1 and want to know if those names also appear anywhere on Sheet 2. I was planning on putting the formula in Column B of Sheet 1.

Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

=COUNTIF(Sheet2!1:1048576,A1)>0

Returns True or False

If you are planning on copying that formula down your column, just be sure to lock down the row references with absolute referencing, i.e.

=COUNTIF(Sheet2!$1:$1048576,A1)>0
