I would like to be able to have the user select a cell and when they double click on it, the code copies that cell and paste values it on Sheet01 A2. Is that possible?

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
How about
VBA Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
   Target.Copy Sheets("Sheet01").Range("A2")
   Cancel = True
End Sub
