Double data validation

I've tested this double validation formula below but I have a feeling I'm missing something. It works, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better solution.

It allows from a list, C1:C10 and prevents duplicates.

=AND(MATCH(A1,$C$1:$C$10,0),COUNTIF($A$1:$A$10,A1)=1)
