May be asking for tooo much ...... but

can we draw Table or show grid lines on comments.

Actually i am adding a comment to cell with following data,

Head-1 Head-2
ABC 3112
SGF 5479
FJF 3876 ..... so on ... some 7-8 rows

so just checking if i can draw table in comments quickly !!!

Any idea ????

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
The pipe character | , a fixed width font, with underline should be able to look like a grid.

P.S. I like the quote from Woodrow W. Smith.

I heard the quote from a character in a Heinlein book. So he borrowed it from Ford. Thanks for the attribution.

As far as I know, a comment will take text only and any visual effect would have to be via the rich text capabilities.

You can take a screen shot of a particular worksheet table range, save it as a gif, and fill the comment shape with that table, many examples on the board for filling comment shapes with pictures.

Also, if you are using version <= 2003, you can select the range, press Shift will clicking the Edit button, and "Copy Picture" will be one of the items on that Edit menu.

Code may not be ideal option ..... I think using | and __ seems to be best option ...

Anyway ... thanks alll

I also had one more ques ....
I want to hilight only that row where my cursor is placed .. can this be done using Conditional formatting ???
e.g.

If my cursor in on A1 then the fisrt row would have Background color Yellow

If i move cursor from A1 to A2 then row1 =White , row2=Yellow ....

I know i can do it with VBA but that is not an option here ....

Can i do it using Conditional Formatting ....

I tried ROW() ... but that gives row # for that particular row ... which formula can give me row of the current cursor position ?

Any idea ???
