G'day all,

I want to create a drop down box for a roster spreadsheet.

I have never done this before can someone please help?

Example:
Code:
A B C D E F G H I J
Name Junior Club D.O.B Age H [cm] W [kg] Debut Position[s] Years Contracted Value
Michael Ennis Junee NSW 16/03/1984 28 176 88 2003 HK 1 $250,000
Bronson Harrison Five Dock NSW 10/10/1985 27 183 102 2004 SR 1 $225,000
Beau Scott Picton NSW 15/05/1984 28 184 98 2005 SR 1 $200,000
Bryce Gibbs Western Suburbs NSW 5/11/1984 28 188 107 2003 PR 1 $150,000
Jeremy Smith Runaway Bay QLD 14/04/1980 32 184 100 2004 SR 1 $150,000

I will make space on the spreadsheet where I can name the team
FB
WI
CE
CE
WI
FE
HB
PR
HK Michael Ennis
PR Bryce Gibbs
SR Bronson Harrison [Once I select Bronson Harrison or any player for that matter, I want to make it so I can't select that player again anywhere on this form]
SR Beau Scott
LK

INT Jeremy Smith
INT
INT
INT

Can somebody please give me instructions on how to do this.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! :)

Cheers

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Sounds like you want the basics of Data Validation, so take a look here for a start.

Thanks for the reply Peter_SSs.

The problem I have is that I can only select the one column, where I want to select multiple columns - Example:

SR: Bronson Harrison
SR: Beau Scott

As they both SR under their respective position heading, plus I want if I want to select Bronson Harrison as the first SR, I don't want him to appear in the second SR.

Hi guys,

Thought I'd upload a screenshot on what I actually require:
NamingTeam.jpg

I need data validation in each cell next to FB, WI, CE etc that corresponds to the Players per position table.

Once I select Michael Gordon at FB, he shouldn't be an option anymore as he is selected. With the Interchange, they can be selected by whoever is left on the Players per position table.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trying to help me with my request.

Cheers
