I am not sure how others would do it , but, I would do a simple validation with vlookup.

- Click Data in toolbar
- Validation
- Allow (change to list)
- go get your list
- Enter

Most data validations have to be on the same sheet, so I would plop
it way out to the right. Also, if you have your pick list at BB
I would put your price at BC.

Then if your drop down cell is C4, at d4 I would put in your
=vlookup(C4,xx.xx,2)

Good luck

hey man, relax, I am not blind or something.

type a number of computer names on your sheet underneath each other. type the prices for them next to them.
Make a combobox (from the forms toolbar) rightclick on it and select format.
somewhere between those options, click rowsource. Click and drag your list of computers. click on linkedcell. click on another cell. click ok. click on the cell where you want the result in. click on the f(x) button on your toolbar. Select VLOOKUP. In the first field, click on the cell you have the computer name in (the cell linked to your combobox). in the second field, drag the list of computer names and prices. In the third field, type 2. In the fourth field, type false. Click ok.
ready.

Oops, forgot (vlookup,a1,xx.xx,2,false) the false part

Hey H.

I like alternative methods, looking at that.
Did not have format, only (format control)...Properties had linked cell.
Perhaps old vers 97 does not have that...

I guess you could write some code behind it?
