I have created a drop down list with the following data to call:

May 2019
June 2019
July 2019

I have around 30 cells where I have selected from the drop down list.

I have now updated the source data that the drop down calls to the following:

May 2020
June 2020
July 2020

Is there a way of get the 30 cells where the drop down was selected as "May 2019" in the past. to automatically update & display "May 2020" which is what the source drop down has been updated to? I hope this all makes sense.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Iain.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Why not just select the cells & use find/replace (Ctrl H) to replace 2019 with 2020?

I used a simple example. In reality there are lots of variants. I would be there all day. Many thanks for coming back never the less.

Simple example, simple answer ;)
Without knowing any details, it's very difficult to help.

Good point.

Is there any sort of refresh mechanism that can be used if you change "Drop down" source data, that pushes the update to anywhere the drop down is used?

Not that I'm aware of.
If the dropdowns are fed from a list on a sheet, then it would be possible with a macro. But you would need a list of both old & new values, along with knowing where the related drop downs are located.
