drop down menus

I want to have 2 separate drop down menus, but only one of them can be active on this form I am creating in Excel. So if one menu has a selection made, the other one is grayed out. I don't know anything about VBA, I'm assuming that's probably the only way to do this though. Can someone please help me.

Are the drop downs on a WorkSheet or a UserForm?

They are on a worksheet.

Are they created using Data Validation or are they from the Forms Toolbar?

Just the forms toolbar
