Can anyone tell me how to create a drop down menu that will sort?

I have inherited a data base that includes everyone in my organization.

There are collums with theire names etc, then a column with their shift i.e. DAYS SWINGS or MIDS....

I need to be able to click on the arrow in the drop down menu and have it show only who is on swings etc...

Can any one help? I know this is vague... thanks!

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Select your range then on the menu - Data - Autofilter.

drop down menus will appear and you can select certain shifts.

Hi -

Have you thought about using the Auto-Filter, filtering the columns? This may give you the effect you're looking for.
