Drop Down?

Morning all, I have a column with text in (fluid, none fluid) over time the entries have become incorrect (mis spelt etc).

So I want to create a column that has a drop down selection instead (as I have a formula that uses that cell detail as prt of another operation). Which fails due to the point above. I know who to create a list(drop down) and a validation rule), but how can I get the current value into those cells? Without doing a manual cell by cell change? Circa 1600 rows...

any ideas. Cheers

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
if you filter the column you can select all the versions of the value. then type the correct one at the top and fill down.

Cheers, Yes, both those work.

But what about then doing the list? To stop it happening again?

When you have a list in the column no mistakes can be made.
You select the old cells and the empty cells and add a validationlist to the cells.
