Hello All,

I've tried to search for the answer everywhere, however, I was unable to resovle the issue myself. I would like to create a pivot table the following data:

Company A $100
Company B $250
Company C $300
Company A $100
Company A $450

For some reason, when I create a pivot table, it looks like this:

Company A $100
Company A $100 TOTAL $200

Company B $250 TOTAL $250
Company C $300 TOTAL $300

Company A $450 TOTAL $450

Company A with subtotal of $200 is the same as Company A with subtotal of $450. I would like to have one entry of Company A with subtotal of $650. I have tried to change the format of the cells and create new pivot table, however, this did not bring any positive results.

Please, share your ideas with me if you know what might cause this problem. Thank you in advance!

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick response. I have used fictional data in the example. However, the concept stays the same. We invoice our clients on a monthly basis and we would like to have a summary for each client separately.

I have checked the names, format of the cells (right click or on toolbar) and formatted my data as a table. I still have two entries for the same company - one after another. Out of 60 companies, 5 split up into two entries with data from different years and months.

thank you again for your help!
