If I have a duration in an third party excel spreadsheet that is in the format
03/01/1900 14:41:14 and is displayed as 86:41:14 . How Can how can I manipulate it so that I can calculate to total number of minutes and fractions thereof.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Excel thinks of a day as being 1, so time values are between 0 and 1. Just multiply by 24 and then by 60, and you should get what you're after. :)
