Dynamic Named Range Help

I'd like to have a dynamic named range for a set of pivot filters. To do so I'd like to set up a named range from A1 to the first blank cell, as there could potentially be fewer or more numbers of filters for the pivot table.

The regular offset counta method doesn't work here, as if i were to select all of a it would go to the bottom of my pivot table and subtract 1.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe something like this...

=A1:INDEX(A1:A100,MATCH(TRUE,A1:A100="",0)))

Adjust for a reasonable end of range.

If you use that in a formula on the worksheet then it has to be array entered**. For example, you might use it like this:

=COUNTA(A1:INDEX(A1:A100,MATCH(TRUE,A1:A100="",0)))

In which case it needs to be array entered**.

** array formulas need to be entered using the key
combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key
then hit ENTER.

Name manager will also add the sheet name so be sure that you're on the sheet that the range applies to when creating the named range (otherwise, you have to type in the sheet name(s) yourself!).
