Hi all,

I have a macro, which reads a directory (C:\logs\*.log) and creates worksheets in the name of log files dynamicaly in a lopp with
MyFile = Dir("C:\logs\*.log"), and i have a predefined worksheet called Report... I just want to make some calculations in these created sheets and put the results in to the predifined sheet but just open a browse windows to choice the file "MyFile"... In fact "MyFile" is just a variable that keeps the name of the sheets.

Worksheets("Report").Cells(5, 2).Value = "=Average(MyFile!B1:B300)"

Any thoughts?

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
This command will bring up a file select window where you can choose the file you want to run the macro on:

MyFile = Application.GetOpenFilename("All Files,*.*")

Is that what you are looking for?

Hi there

If its the Formula you want to get working

Worksheets("Report").Cells(5, 2).Value = "=Average(MyFile!B1:B300)"

then change it to the following

Worksheets("Report").Cells(5, 2).Value = "=Average(" & MyFile & "!B1:B300)"

Hope this helps
