I have a forum in Access 2007, it is made from a table. One of the labels is from a field in the table called "Accounts". Accounts is a number which represents an actual account in another table

i.e. it shows 1, which in another table it has a reletonship with it is savings

I only seem to know convoluted ways of doing this, I think I am having a mind fart, but what is is the easiest way of getting the forum to show "Savings" instead of "1"?

Thank you

Kavy

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Probably need a combobox control and not a label. Then on the Row Source property, select the query builder (the ... next to the field) and choose the correct table as well as ID and whatever field that "savings" would be in. Then set the number of columns to 2 and the width of the first column to 0.

Thank you, embarrassed I was overthinking that.

Thank you!

No need to be embarrased, you should check out some of my posts! :)

Well in that case...

I have it working now, so i have a main Forum from a table with 2 fields:
-Account
-Date

I have a subfourm which shows the transactions for the given record on the main form.

When I change the field 'account', it changes the actual data in the table it is pulling the data from. How do I instead get it to change the record it is looking at (i.e know I want a different record, not that I want to edit the current record)

The combo box for Account has a row/source type of Table/Query, and shows the account name.

Any tips?

Thanks, no pressure!

but you do NOT have a forum. You are VISITING Mr.Excel.com which has a forum. What you have is a FORM - F O R M form.

Just a little correction so when you post on the forum about your form, you don't confuse people.

Kavy,

I would go ahead and repost this question in a new thread since it is different from the topic of this one.
