Editing Date and time in the same cell (Excel 2010)

Hi everybody

Here is my question. I have got a spreadsheet with a date and time written as "YYYYMMDD/HHMM" in one cell. For example 20000101/1230 means 12:30 AM 1st January, 2000. Now the problem is that I want to subtract 7 hours from time (UTC to ICT conversion). Remeber subtracting 7 hours from time may also change the date by one day. How can i do that?

You forgot to post what's the format of the result, do you want the result to be an excel datetime or a text value in the same format that you posted?

For an excel datetime, in B1:

=TEXT(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"/",""),"0000-00-00 00\:00")-"7:00"

Format B1 with the custom format:

yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm

If you want the result with the same format as the one you posted, in C1:

=TEXT(B1,"yyyymmdd/hhmm")

You can, of course, merge the 2 formulas.

Ex.:
