I have a spread sheet that I am creating to collect equipment downtime, The problem that I'm having is as follows; I have two columns, start time and end time, in which the operator logs the time that the problem started and finished and another column that adds the difference in time and converts it to minutes. I need the addition column to look at the start/end columns for time frames equivalent or between to the one that it will add and if it finds it, put zero. I'm pulling the last few hairs left in my head with this one.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Hi Gusf and welcome to the board.

I just don't understand what you mean. Please can you explain more clearly ?

Giving us a couple of examples of your data, with the desired results, would be helpful.

This is the example:

Start Time Finish Time Total Minutes
3:00 4:00 60
4:15 4:30 15
4:15 4:20 At this point I need excel to identify that this time sequence took place at the same time as the one above and place a zero instead, in other words do not add the time. I hope this helps in clarifying my problem.
