Email a notification from excel

Hello all,
I am curious to know if it is possible for excel to send an email. Here is my sittuation,,,, In an excel spread sheet we keep a log with dates for specific tasks to start. The problem is too many people in the file to see who does what and when. Can an email generate from within excel and go to the person responsible for that task.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
