Gents,

I would like to refer back to any particular embedded Chart using it's id or index number. How do I assign it to a variable when the chart is created, so I can refer to it later???

Regards

Chris

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Hi Chris & Welcome to the Board!

The 'normal' route to refer to the chart in later code would be to set a reference to the code object. However, if by returning to it you mean at a later date (eg after the chart has been created and the code exection has been ended), then you can determine what the index of the chart was when created, and then use that:

Code:
Sub Test()
Dim cht As ChartObject
Set cht = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects.Add(10, 10, 10, 10)  'this creates the obj reference
Debug.Print cht.Index 'return index of the chart
End Sub
