Embedded PDF's in Excel

Hi,

I have a spreadsheet with some embedded PDF's in it.

I can open some of the PDF files but not other.

I've noticed that if I click on the ones I can open, in the "Formula Bar" at the top it says;

=EMBED("Acrobat Document","")

But on the ones I can't open it says;

=EMBED("Outlook.FileAttach","")

Does anyone know what is going on here & how I can open all the PDF's?

Thanks

Looks like those PDFs were dragged and dropped from Outlook? Save them first before trying to embed them.

How do you embed Outlook file attachments in Excel?
Sounds like it might need Outlook running when you try to open the files?

I was able to duplicate this issue. I took a PDF that was attached to an email (in Outlook 2003) and dragged it to an open worksheet. When I double click the object, the PDF opens, but when Outlook is closed I get an error:

"Cannot start the source application for this object."

Opening Outlook and double clicking the object allowed it to open.

So you either need to keep Outlook open, or save the PDF somewhere before embedding it.
