EMBEDDING CELL REFERENCE(S) IN HEADER/FOOTER

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi advplan,

Sorry, but you can't. Headers and footers are text strings, and nothing more. The only way to write the value of a cell into a header and footer is to use a macro to insert it, say, whenever the cell value changes.

Hi advplan

Welcome to the board!

It may be possible, depending on what you want to do. For example I use a macro to update the "issue number" on a worksheet footer before it's printed out, or automatically, before the workbook is closed.
The issue number is stored in a cell on a worksheet, and updated by one each time the macro runs, after which a message box appears informing the user of the issue number change.

Is this the sort of thing you're after?

Kindest

Sykes
