Empty dynamic named ranges

I want to create a spreadsheet with dynamic named ranges. For simplicity, 2 columns of data - Firstname and Surname with defined dynamic named ranges to suit e.g. Fname and Sname.User input is via userform with 2 text boxes to capture firstname and surname which then add, via Vba to the respective range. This only works if I distribute spreadsheet with named ranges already populated - but - code stops with error if Fname and/or Sname are empty. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this would be welcome.
