Encrypted Macros

I have a pretty big file that has several Macros in several sheets. Everything works fine but if you re-name the file or move it to a different location, the next time you open will have the security warning with

This file contains encrypted macros that have been disabled because there is no antivirus software installed that can scan them. To run these macros, remove the encryption or permission restrictions on this file.

The macros will not run at this point and I can't uncheck the block to run them do to security policies. After research I found this solution but again due to policy, I doubt they will change the regisitry

Change the below registry values from 0 to 1:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Security\ExcelBypassEncryptedMacroScan

My question is why would the macros change to encrypted by simply moving or renaming the file.

Thank You

Paul

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Just guessing since I have not seen that problem:
Are any worksheets or the workbook or the code protected ? If so does unprotecting them allow the move with no problem?
You are running a machine with no AV protection?

I will try unprotecting all the sheets and see if that helps.

Yes, the machine is on a closed network with no outside access and they do not run AV. The admins have totally control over the machines. I have seen a solution where I can tweek the registry settings but they will never allow access to do that.

I still don't understand why moving or re-naming the file causes the sheet to think the code is encrypted.
