I would like to a allow my users to enter 3 items of data -name, day and time - and place the name in the cell at the intersection of the day and time.

Is such a thing possible?

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
wow - that slick. I'm trying to view the vba to modify it for my context but it's asking me for a password?

Ah - I see what you mean about the number of users!

The actual application is for 15 people to enter patient appointments with 5 pieces of information (name/time/duration/therapist/note) into 15 min slots from monday to friday over 52 weeks. I guess I'm going to need a rethink!

Why not just sort by day and time?

The sheet is going to be used by novice users so it needs to be completely automated. Also, for every appointment there are actually 5 cells of data so it would be rather complex.

I think what I was looking for is excel's built-in data entry feature but instead of populating fields in a row I wanted to populate the matrix.
