Any assistance with this code would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Code:
Sub test()

Dim x As Integer
Dim y As Date

x = Year(Now) - 1
y = DateValue("x/1/1")

MsgBox y

End Sub

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Since x is a variable and not literal text, it needs to be outside of the text qualifiers, and concatenated with the text part, i.e.
Code:
y = DateValue(x & "/1/1")

You are welcome.

It is important to understand the distinction between variables and literal values. In a nutshell, anything between double-quotes is treated as literal text. So you need to make sure all your variables and not between the double-quotes.
