Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You don't state what error that you are getting, can you let us know please? Is Worksheets("Production Report") the ActiveWorkSheet when the code is run?

What does the code below do for you (please note the code below isn't designed to answer the questions that I have asked above, need the answers first for that)?

Code:
Sub zzzzz()
    ActiveSheet.Range("$A$2:$AD$999").AutoFilter Field:=20, Criteria1:= _
                                                 "<" & CLng(CDate("4/07/2020")), Operator:=xlAnd
    ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Production Report").AutoFilter.Sort.SortFields.Clear
    ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Production Report").AutoFilter.Sort.SortFields.Add2 _
        Key:=Range("T2:T999"), SortOn:=xlSortOnValues, Order:=xlAscending, _
        DataOption:=xlSortNormal
    With ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Production Report").AutoFilter.Sort
        .Header = xlYes
        .MatchCase = False
        .Orientation = xlTopToBottom
        .SortMethod = xlPinYin
        .Apply
    End With
End Sub
