=SERIES("LNGLF",'Joint Account 2-23-18 forward.xlsm'!Data,Date,'Joint Account 2-28-19 forward.xlsm'!Data,LNGLF,1)
Repetitive problem that I do not understand RE dynamic charting. I am using the OFFSET formula to define dynamic name ranges. Those ranges in this case are “date” and “LNGLF”. When I try to create a chart of Date (x axis) against LNGLF (Y axis) and make it dynamic as noted above, I keep getting a error message that states: “you’ve entered to many arguments for this function” with the dynamic range “Date” highlighted. I do not understand a thing about what might be happening here. Does anyone have a clue. I am using Windows 10 with Excel that comes with Office 365 and I get all the regular updates.
Not sure it matters but all new entries are put on the top of the worksheet (Data) while old entries are retained but pushed down one row for every new date entry. I can create the graph just fine and I can create the OFFSET name ranges, but I can never get the chart to update dynamically. I just wonder if this error message is a hint to what the problem is, and I do not understand what the error message is telling me. Also, Excel won’t let me out of the formula bar! I thought things were supposed to improve with new versions of “MS Office”!

- My chart name is – LNGLF
- My file name is – Joint Account 2-23-18 forward.xlsm
- My worksheet name is – Data
- I am trying to chart the dates verses the data column – LNGLF from 2-23-18 forward and update the chart dynamically with every new entry corresponding to a new date input.
