I am a user of Powerpivot.
I tried to load an xlsx file of 700k rows.
The powerpivot window gave me a message saying : no available resources smth - out of memory - Please try to upgrade to 64-bit if you are using 32-bit.

1) How can I learn what is my bit version that i use - where can I see it?
2) If I do use 32-bit > How can I upgrade it?

I use a laptop > Windows 7 >
Microsoft Office Suite 2010 Home & Student
> laptop is Intel Core i5 processor
> I have 4GB RAM

THANK YOU SO MUCH ALL

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
1) From your start menu, go to "control panel" and select "System". Here it will tell you whether you are using a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system.
2) I believe to upgrade to 64 bit, you would have to upgrade your windows OS to 64 bit.

Hope this helps.

Thank you susjoe3 _ that was an enlightening answer. I am out of home now so I will check later. I hope I am using 64-bit, if not trouble is ahead. Thank you again both you & the message Board of Mr Excel.
