Does anyone know of a useful technique to tell if a cell contains an even time or an odd time?

Many thanks,
Tom F

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Is this determined by the hour or minute?

With a time in A1,
=CHOOSE((MOD(HOUR(A1),2)=0)+1,"odd hour","even hour")

should work based on the hour.

adjust to

=CHOOSE((MOD(MINUTE(A1),2)=0)+1,"odd","even")
or the shorter
=IF(MOD(MINUTE(A1),2),"odd","even")

=IF(MOD(MINUTE(A1),2),"odd","even")

Or, if you have the Analysis ToolPak installed...

=IF(ISEVEN(MINUTE(A1)),"even","odd")
