excel 07 column referencing question

Im working on an inventory list, and trying to reference a column from one file to another. all it is, is a number for in stock inventory, i would like for it to match the numbers from the master inventory with everything compiled in one file to the new one with seperate tabs, anyone know the easiest way to have those numbers match up and update automatically without going through it one by one manually? thanks
 

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

Can you describe in more detail what it is you are aiming for? It's not clear to me from your description so far.
