excel 2002 convert numbers to mathematical

i copied numbers from an online account.
pasted them into excel 2002.
how do i convert the numbers to numbers i can multiply etc?
i tried putting a 1 into a cell then copying and paste special multiply

tried converting the cell to numbers

thanks. i forgot to say to remove all those zeros that occurred when i selected all to remove the hyperlinks.
it has ended up 993 pages long! instead of 214 rows.

sadly the file does not work. i try and multiply a negative number and just get #VALUE

I have removed the zero's in the link in the previous post.
As for your value error I am afraid I have no idea why you are getting a #VALUE error when multiplying a negative number by 3 with 2002 as the numbers in the file in the link are all real numbers now (unless you had the cells in the sheet you are pasting it back into formatted as Text and not General before you did the paste).

it turns out that the - were not minuses!
i found and replaced them with real - and it works

My bad, corrected it in the first file but didn't check that it was still sorted in the 2nd when I removed the zeroes, but at least you have it sorted.
