Hello!

I work with Excel 2011 for MAC. At my office, my business manager works with Excel 2003. I created the following formula for extract General Ledger accounts, but it doesn't work with 2003. Does anyone know the equivalent formula for 2003?

=REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(A1,5,0,"-"),10,0,"-"),13,0,"-"),16,0,"-"),20,0,"-"),27,0,"-")

Thanks, Jack

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
I dont have 2003 and would have thought that would work, but maybe try SUBSTITUTE insead of REPLACE

When you say it doesnt work - what doesnt work? is it giving an error message, the wrong answer, what?
