Hi - thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me with the following:

I have created a pivot table and I want to be able to hide the field heading (which at the moment says Data and has a drop down arrow next to it).

How can this be done?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Well, you could overtype the cell (button) so that it says something other than Data, or you could apply a custom format to it along the lines of:

;;;

(3 semi-colons) which would blank out the displayed value.

You won't be able to actually hide an individual cell (only a row or column) so you will still see the dropdown arrow. You can probably hide the dropdown arrow using VBA.

Thanks for this - I'll go with the custom format option. It seems as though Excel 2007 has an option to remove these headers.

Thanks so much
