Excel 2003 problem executing macro

have had a macro running for a long time from a link on a web page in IE7, when clicked it would always open excel and run the macro, suddenly instead of opening excel it is opening the macro as a web page. When the buttons in the form for the macro are clicked the macro still runs as before but instead of generating a new worksheet in excel it generates the report as a web page and displays it. It also changes the IE7 menu bar from IE to Excel Options. Any suggestions as to why this would suddenly start to occur.
