Good afternoon

A colleague of mine still uses Excel 2007 and had a document saved on a Network Drive

They have been working on this all day without saving, although the auto-recovery is enabled for every ten minutes

She accidentally closed excel down without saving

I have searched in the path to which Excel auto-saves, but there are no .XAR files there, just 3 older .TMP files i cannot open

Is there another way to find this? Or is there something else that happens when the File is saved on the network? All the articles i find are to do with recovering a file that has never been saved before. This one had, but i just want to get back the last auto-save

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks in advance to any helpers

Kind regards
Ben

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
reading further I read that the auto-recover folder Excel saves into deletes the file once the file has been "successfully" closed.. So I'm guessing closing the file and choosing NOT to save is counted as "successfully closing"? Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

Are there any cached versions that could be retrieved?

Thanks
