Hi! You guys helped me so much getting the auto sort set up in my 2003 Excel that I need your help again. I was upgraded to 2007 last week (I know.... my company lives in the stone ages) so I had to transfer one of my spreadsheets over to 2007. I completely re-did it so I won't post the previous code that worked in the 2003 version.

Anyway, basically it's a spreadsheet that has columns A through N. I want it to automatically sort by column G (my project number - D11111) and then by column B (requisition number - 7 digit number) because I have some that have many lines of information attached to one project number. Each row of information HAS to stay together when it auto sorts.

I hope I was clear with that!

Thanks so much!

Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
Don't worry, I work for a multi-billion dollar corporation, and I just got upgraded to Excel 2007 yesterday.

Have you tried using the macro recorder to get what you need? When do you want the code "automatically" ran?

My company defaults everyone to Lotus 1-2-3 normally...

How's that for stone age?

Agree with MrKowz on trying the macro recorder. Once you record it the way you want, feel free to post the final code here so we can offer some improvements since some code generated by it is a bit superfluous.

I don't know how to get the macro recorder to work. Especially with how I want this to sort. I tried one day and well... I almost killed my computer. Excel was not my friend that day!!

I want it to run pretty much instantly. So when I add a new line of information at the bottom of the list, it automatically sorts it into the proper space.
