I have an Excel 2007 file that takes 8 minutes to open. Its a rather large file, 30mb, and it contails several macros. When it finally opens, macros are disabled and I need to manually enable them before I can proceed. So, I have two questions; why does it take so long to open and how can I have those macros enabled?

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
I guess it will depend on your computers processing ability.
A high spec computer will open it fairly quickly I'd imagine, but a 30Mb file will certainly put a strain on something a bit slower.
Consider looking at reducing formatting of cells, colours of cells, numerous font changes, lots of calculations, etc.
Also do a Ctrl + End on each sheet and see if it is at the end of the data or waaaay down the sheet somewhere.
If so, highlight rows and columns to the end of the sheet and delete them.
Save the workbook and re-open. A file sent to me recently reduced from 9Mb to 1.2Mb because of this problem.
