Hi All,

For some unknown reason to me, my file is now formatting cells using Accounting Euro symbol as the default. If I create a new pivot table, all numbers appear with the Euro symbol.

Is there any way I can change a global setting in the file to prevent this from happening? I can manually change each occurance but it gets a bit tedious.

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
Hi Kim,

Your Regional and Language Settings might have been changed.
You can access those settings through the Windows Control Panel.

Kim, I don't have any particular experience with the problem you are having, but here are some thoughts on how you might track it down.

1. Try to narrow down potential causes of the problem by determining whether it is specific to: Your workbooks (try both new, existing), Your Computer (try to open a file with that problem on a different computer), Your user profile. If your computer can have more than one user have another user login and see if they have the same problem.

Based on your findings above, check out
2. If it is just new workbooks, reformat the cells in your default worksheet template.
3. If it is just your computer,
a. Check if you have any Add-Ins installed
b. Check if you have macros that auto run when you start Excel or a workbook
c. Check in Excel Options (although in xl2007 I don't see any setting that would cause this).

If you do the steps above and share your findings, perhaps someone on the Board might have the answer.
