Hi
Recently in excel the number format has defaulted from general to US date.

I have looked around and it seems to be a bug - extremely frustrating as I am using pivot tables

I have tried the following:-

1) Control settings are UK date
2) General number format is set to "general"
3) Checked the template settings
4) Used Office 2007 CD to repair installation (worked briefly- 5 minutes)

Any ideas how to make these changes stick?

Thanks

Welcome to the Board,

Have you looked at creating a New Style and format how you want to appear then apply the New Style to your workbook. On the Home tab Look to the right and select Cell Styles Add A New Style at the bottom and then format.

Hi

Many thanks- I will try and set a new template,

I presume this will only work in the case of new workbooks and will not resolve issue in existing books.

You are correct that your template wont effect already created workbooks.
