Excel 2007 PivotTable Drill Down

When you drill down on a PivotTable it brings up a separate sheet in a table format. I know you can click on "conver to range" and this works great for small amounts of data, but we are looking at a lot of data and the range conversion takes several minutes (almost 20-30 minutes).

Is there a way to drill down directly to a range instead of a table format?

Thanks!

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
