Excel 2010 - Chart Axis Issue

Sorry for the basic nature of this query but I have recently moved from Excel 2003 to 2010.

When I try to create a chart based on month end data the chart axis label is changing the date from the month end that I have specified (31/03/11, 30/04/11) to the beginning date of that month (01/03/11, 01/04/11).

Why is it doing this? If I enter a date I want the one I select...not one Excel decides!!

HELP ME PLEASE!

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Yep. When I go to the format axis options it has automatically selected the beginning of the month.

I have clicked the fixed option and typed the end of month date to match the date I have on my table but it is still displaying the first of each month.

I have also tried random dates (15/01/11,20/02/11) but it still keeps selecting the first.

This is a line chart by the way...not sure of that makes any difference?

Format the axis as Text ( I know, that doesn't make sense ).

Probably you've stopped watching, but if not, here's my take.

Set the axis minimum to the last of a month, e.g., 28-Feb-2011. Set the major unit to 1 month, and the base unit to days.

I did exactly this and I have ticks at 28-Feb, 31-Mar, 30-Apr, 31-May, 30-Jun, etc.
