Hope you guys can help me.

I have a training record for my team which list all of the training they have received. Most of the training is mandatory annual training.

I'd like to be able to highlight the cells depending on when the training is due with a traffic light system.

Red, overdue
Amber, due in next 3 months
Green, due in next 6 months.

The due dates are all in column F on my training record.

I am familiar with conditional formatting and how it works so I don't need in depth just the best way to get the result.

I'm trying to tackle it using a formula but I'm struggling!

I use Excel 2010

Thanks I'm advance :)

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Create your CF rules in this order

for Red use =$F$1<TODAY()

For amber use =$F$1<TODAY()+90

For Green = =$F$1<TODAY()+180

Format as required

Code:
 Red use =$F$1 < today()
amber use =$F$1 < today()+90
Green = =$F$1 < today() +180
