I have a 2010 Excel file, that I use as a template. The latest one is about 28 Mb, 50 columns with 34000 rows. No VBA macros, all in the same format. There are 20 columns with sumifs and 2 with vlookups. I know these can slow things down, but Ive used this for larger files and it filtered much faster... right now every filter takes about 8 minutes and I may lose my mind soon.
Remedies Ive tried:
Convert unused formulas to their value to minimize calculation
Switched to manual calculation mode
Changed file to Binary instead of Workbook, to shrink the filesize
Closed all other files

My Desktop has 8 processors, and excel purrs up to 40k rows for me. Help?

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
