Hi,

Is it me or can you not have a formula where the range goes over row65536? Eg i'm trying a very simple countif:=

Code:
=COUNTIF('[Consolidation file v5.xlsx]Raw data'!$M$3:$M$165728,"<101")

Thanks

Blunder

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Depends if the external file you're refering to, or the one you're refering from has been saved in 'compatibility mode'

Provided the range you are referencing belongs to an excel file2007/2010 file, then sure you can reference rows > 65536. You can't if the range belongs to 97-2003 as that range won't exist.

Thank you everyone for your quick responses. Basically my source file was 2010, but the file I need the formula in was 2003!!

Thank you again
