Hi,
I have excel 2010. Gridlines do not show on the screen. The gridlines box is already checked. background color is set at no fill. border line are set to automatics. in File, Option gridlines are set to black. but still nothing shows. When i highlight the page i can see that grid lines are there but it will not show for regular view.

also if i change the gridlines color in file option to any other color but black or white, it will show but only on that sheet.

Questions: 1) why do the line not show when it is set to black?
2) if it cannot be helped how can i change the gridline color to purple or some other color as default?

Thanks for your time and assistance.

Hi saghie. I see this quite regularly from spread sheets I acquire or download. In every instance it has been either merged cells or white fill rather than No fill.
I'm sure you have done this but try selecting whole sheet (click top left hand corner above Row 1 an left of column A and go to format and remove merge cells (often need to click this twice to clear all merged cells) and make sure Fill is "No Fill" not white. Not sure if this will help. Cheers.
