Excel 2010 IF question

I have a simple if statement =IF(G5>1,G6:G11,0). The false portion works, but the true portion generates a #Valule, which doesnt make since. The formula appears to be straight forward. Is there something I need to turn on within 2010 or is there some syntax I am missing? Thanks for any assistance you can provice.

What are you trying to achieve?

The forumla, looks at cell G5, if there is volume (number) then it will perform a calculation in G6, with the total of G6:G11 being totalled if there is a value in G5, if not a 0 value is given. I hope this clears up the question

=IF(G5 > 1,G6:G11,0)
wont sum G6:G11

you need
=IF(G5 > 1,SUM(G6:G11),0)
