Excel 2010: Loss of Legend/Axis data

Hi,

This may be a user error but upon reopening an excel file and returning to a series of charts the legend and axis data had disappeared without having made any alterations to the underlying data... does anyone have any ideas about this problem or even a potential solution?!

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
