I have a problem with excel 2011 in that it asks me to save my workbook even if I quickly open up excel and immediately close out without making any changes at all.

I have also narrowed this problem down to formulas.

If I have the number 4 in cell a1, i do not have this problem. i can open and close excel immediately and no save prompt comes.

However, if I have the equation =2+2 in cell a1, even if i open up excel and immediately close out, without making any changes, it asks me to save.

this is just slightly annoying and a problem i have never had with excel before, so i was hoping someone can help me! thank you!
