Every time I change the color of text in a field or try to bold an entry, Excel 2013 bombs out. I

I can save the file before doing one of the above actions, but it bombs out every time I try to change the field or bold and entry.

Oddly, when save the file to a flash drive and bring it up on my notebook, this problem does not occur.

I would appreciate help eliminating this annoying bug.

Thanks!

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
how many styles and other colour formats do you have applied ?

I would suspect your laptop has more memory or a better processor or a later version of excel

Thanks for your response.

I only change only color in the column, from black to red. And, like I said, when I bold entries in a column, Excel 2013 bombs out.

Memory is definitely not the problem. My desktop has 16GB of memory.

You are correct that my desktop has and older version of Excel (2013) while my notebook has the latest version of Excel.

FYI, this problem with the bombing out has only occurred in the past 10 days or so. And it happened all of a sudden.

Thanks again!

32bit excel can only address 3Gb of memory, 64bit has a far greater range so a 16Gb Laptop would be same as 4Gb Desktop at 32bit.

Have a look at ASAP utilities and get it to clean styles, everytime applied and removed you will change the sheets slightly
