Hi All,

I've encountered an annoying thing in Excel 2013.

I'm using pivot tables a lot, hence i'm creating template files, so all i need to do is to 'save as' the workbook, copy new data and refresh the pivot tables.
The annoying thing is that for whatever reason the data source points to the old workbook after the save as, so i have to amend it one by one.

Is there any workaround for this?

Thanks,
Adam

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.

What is the Source of the pivot table in the template? I can't reproduce the behaviour you are describing if it's a Range, by the way.

I'm selecting the data from another sheet as range. For example there is one sheet with the raw data, one with the pivot.

I can't reproduce the behaviour you are seeing. What does the Pivot Table Data Source box contain before and after the Save As?
